House Proud Exhibition

House Proud Exhibition 2008

Houseproud is a collaborative exhibition inspired by the everyday design of residential windows in Eindhoven. Closed or open, spare or decorative, windows are used by residents as a display which projects their personal identity. In cooperation with Your-space, a platform of the Van Abbemuseum, 23 designers and 16 resident have  collaborated to redesign several street-facing windows in the center of Eindhoven. These installations incorporate the values of the residents living within, while reflecting on larger ideas such as private vs. public and the role of design in a social environment.

Together with Sanghyeok Lee, we created “Window Play”. We met Family Kivit and worked their window. Our work was presented at Akkerstraat 21 5615HP Eindhoven on 18-26.Oct.2008 during the Dutch Design Week.

Window Toy - Joon&Jung

Window PLay

We have memories of drawing on the frosted window . A window could be an interesting material, which helps communication from people inside of the house to the outside of the street can be represented. ‘Window Play’  is playing and communicating tools for your family and your neighbors. We created colorful wooden block toy of the family Kivit, trees, houses, sun, star and animals. The block is thick enough to stand itself on the ground and its both sides are coated so it can be attached to the window easily.
